The film is based on a
true story, the football team of Marshall University. On November 14, 1970
after returning from a road game, the plane carrying the team, coaches, family,
friends and fans, crashes when about to land. In total 75 people died in the
accident, there were no survivors and most of the victims were unable to
identify them. For a small town like Huntington, tragedy causes a profound
shock to see their idols, their families or their friends are gone forever in a
tragic way.
After the initial
impact, and given the proximity of the new season raises the question of what
to do with the football team, on one side are the supporters to suspend the
team because they feel it is too soon and recover the football would be too
painful for all. On the other side are those who think that the best way to
honor the team is to persevere and redo it from the ashes.
After a period of
reflection, it was decided to continue with the team, the film tells the
reconstruction, with all the feelings and difficulties in the way it would.
Opinion about the
movie:
It is not the classic American film
where the small defeat the large, where at the end of it victim becomes hero.
The story is touching, the performances excellent, the film does not bored,
history catches. This film tells a true story of overcoming and resurgence of a
losing team, the plot shows only the beginning, the difficulties that were
experienced in the reconstruction to get to the top of the College Football.
